The wheat harvest season (March-April) is the most economically significant period in Rohtak's agricultural hinterland. Baisakhi (April) marks the wheat harvest festival with community celebrations. Teej (July-August) and Karva Chauth (October) are important festivals for women in Haryana's cultural calendar. Diwali is the major community festival. The university academic calendar activates the city in July and January.
